- 1 lb boneless chicken thighs or breasts, cubed
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 cup flour
- Salt and pepper
- Neutral oil (for shallow frying)
- 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
- 1 tbsp orange zest
- 2–3 tbsp honey or sugar
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tsp lemon juice or vinegar
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (for slurry)
- Green onions & sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Coat chicken with cornstarch, flour, salt, and pepper.
- Shallow fry until golden and crisp. Set aside.
- Simmer orange juice, zest, soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and vinegar in a pan.
- Thicken with cornstarch slurry until glossy.
- Toss fried chicken in the sauce until coated.
- Serve hot over rice or with stir-fried veggies.
