  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup non-alcoholic beer (or club soda)
  • Vegetable oil for frying or brushing
  • Optional: pinch of cayenne or herbs for variation

Instructions

  1. Slice onions into rings and pat dry.
  2. Make batter: Mix flour, cornstarch, seasonings, and baking powder. Whisk in non-alcoholic beer or club soda until smooth.
  3. Dip each ring into the batter and coat evenly.
  4. Cook your way: Deep-fry at 375°F for 2–3 minutes until golden. Or bake at 425°F for 15–18 minutes (flip once). Or air-fry at 375°F for 8–10 minutes.
