Main Ingredients
- 8 fresh lemons (juiced and sliced for garnish)
- 1 ⅓ cups granulated sugar (balances the tartness of the lemons)
- 6 cups cold water (for dilution and perfect consistency)
- Ice cubes (for a crisp, refreshing chill)
Optional Add-Ins
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (adds a subtle depth of flavor)
- Fresh mint leaves (for a cooling and aromatic touch)
- Sparkling water (for a fizzy lemonade variation)
Instructions
- Prepare the Lemons : Wash the lemons thoroughly and slice them in halves or quarters.
- Muddle the Lemons with Sugar : In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced lemons and granulated sugar. Use a wooden spoon or muddler to press the lemons, releasing their juices and essential oils.
- Add Water & Ice : Pour in 6 cups of cold water and stir until the sugar dissolves completely. Add plenty of ice cubes to keep it extra refreshing.
- Shake & Serve : For an authentic State Fair experience, pour the lemonade into a mason jar or shaker and shake vigorously. Serve immediately in tall glasses with ice, garnished with a lemon slice and fresh mint.
