- 12 sticks low-moisture mozzarella or string cheese
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tbsp milk
- 2 cups Panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan (optional)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Neutral oil for frying (vegetable, sunflower, or canola)
Instructions
- Cut mozzarella into sticks if using a block; keep whole if using string cheese.
- Set up three bowls for flour, beaten egg + milk, and seasoned breadcrumbs.
- Dip each stick in flour → egg → breadcrumbs. Repeat egg and breadcrumb steps for a double coat.
- Freeze the coated sticks on a tray for 1–2 hours.
- Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry sticks in batches for 1–2 minutes until golden.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot with dipping sauces.
